Mosaic Art

Looking for something different accent your home? Several works of art to be an unusual or striking – but as attractive to the eye?

Why not try a mosaic, one of the oldest art forms known to man and has prospered in cultures of the world. Regardless of your choice in art – the human figure, flowers, animals – can be recreated as a mosaic. Reproductions famous mosaics of the past styles are selling well today, just as modern creations. Can be placed in any room in the house without fear of being harmed by heat, humidity or moisture – even more, you can view in your court.

A mosaic is a picture or decoration made of small pieces of "tiles", colored stones, glass or other material is incorporated a support to form a design. These pieces are cut into squares, triangles or other shapes, which is an effort in itself. These tiles, then it keep things like vases, with a more complex located on the tables, walls, floors or ceilings, fireplaces and even in your pool.

Organizations For Artists Mosaic
Many organizations exist today to promote the cause of the mosaic – which is now flourishing as they did thousands of years. There is even a magazine, Mosaic, Mosaic field.

History Mosaic
Mosaics were found in 4000 and British Columbia in a palace in what was then Macedonia. Roman families also decorated their villas with mosaic. Some of the best known mosaics have now been found in excavated cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum in Italy. St. Peter's Basilica in Rome is also decorated with beautiful mosaics.

The mosaic of Alexander, also known as the battle of Issus, is one of the most famous mosaics in the world. The data from about 200 BC, and is the battle between the forces of Alexander the Great and Darius III. It measures 19 x 10 meters, and contains more than one and a half million tiny tiles! In 2003, a copy of this mosaic has been made (the original is rather damaged). It took 22 months to complete the mosaic. Would you work?

It is fascinating to watch closely to see these mosaics Pointillism "engaged in representing the figure of an animal or human. Each small square of color must be placed with accuracy and precision graduated colors to give the image of realism.
